Flexible resource project

Fingrid was planning a flexible resource project in cooperation with Estonia’s transmission system operator Elering and Åland’s transmission system operator Kraftnät Åland with the aim of promoting the large-scale utilisation of the flexibility provided by distributed decentralised resources locally, nationally, between Finland and Åland as well as between Finland and Estonia.

Preparations for the flexible resource project have been suspended in spring 2020.  Research will continue as part of two R&D projects co-funded by the European Commission: the INTERRFACE project, which started in 2019 and the OneNet project, which received funding in October 2020.
