Transmission line area

A transmission line area is the area for which Fingrid has expropriated a limited right of use. It provides Fingrid with rights to use the transmission line area and also imposes restrictions on the landowner concerning the free use of the area.

The transmission line area is composed of the right-of-way and of border zones on both sides of the right-of-way. The height of trees in the border zones is restricted according to so-called redemption borders.

The width of the transmission line area varies depending on the structure of the line. The width of the area with restricted building also varies depending on the type of the line.
