Peak load capacity 2024
January and February 2024
The Energy Authority decided to select no capacity for the peak load capacity system from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024. Fingrid Oyj will maintain its readiness to implement the system as required by law, even if no capacity is reserved for the system or the system is not needed for individual periods. The resulting costs are billed from the electricity consumption of customers connected to the main grid.
The costs of the peak load capacity period from 1 November 2023 to 30 October 2024 will be invoiced in arrears on one invoice. The costs will be allocated to electricity consumption between 7 am and 9 pm on winter weekdays. The invoice will specify the energy volumes in each winter month (December, January and February).
The costs to main grid customers for the entire invoicing period were EUR 97,503. The billable electricity consumption is the same as the energy volume used for the consumption fee in the daytime hours on a winter weekday under the main grid agreement. The total energy volume is 10,209,801 MWh (1 December to 28 February). The imputed unit price is EUR 0.010/MWh.
Period 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025
The Energy Authority has decided not to procure capacity for the peak load reserve period from 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025. The costs of this peak load reserve period will be billed on a single invoice in autumn 2025.
