In January and February 2010, peak load reserve capacity was activated on two days in the Elspot market in Finland and Sweden. On 8 January 2010 between 8 and 11 am, a maximum of 45 MW of peak load reserve bids were activated in Finland and a maximum of 145 MW in Sweden. The Mussalo 2 power plant in Finland was started, and it also produced some of the peak load reserve need for Sweden.

On 22 February 2010 between 9 and 12 am, a maximum of 57 MW of peak load reserve bids were activated in Finland and a maximum of 172 MW in Sweden. The full peak load reserve capacity was started in Sweden, but no peak load reserve plants were started in Finland on that day.

In December, peak load reserve bids were activated in one hour in the Elspot market in Finland and Sweden. On 17 December 2009 between 18 and 19 pm, 16.5 MW were activated in Finland and 40.5 MW were activated in Sweden. The full peak load reserve capacity was started in Sweden, but no peak load reserve plants were started in Finland on that day.

In February, Fingrid commissioned the starting of the Mussalo 2 power plant covered by the peak load arrangement on one occasion to secure the maintaining of power balance.
